Cliff Hanger
« on: November 20, 2009, 16:54:50 »
Hey, um...first level.

I've Been working on a massive story for...god, a year off and on, but in the meantime, I wanted to do something smaller.

Cliff Hanger is about the feeling of being on edge and rewarding exploration.
I wanted it quiet.
I wanted it quest like.
Tell me what you think.

http://knyttlevels.com/levels/Grimwit%20-%20Cliff%20Hangerv13.knytt.bin

Ver 1.1 changes.

Added some better clues. (I don't care if something easy as long as it's fun)
Ridded myself of some void screens.
Fixed the clue for the second letter in the ocean level.

Ver 1.3 changes

Fixed the title so people should be able to install it and stuff.
Fix some more Wall Swims and voids.
Added a secret ending for people you try to break the level.  You'll find it, I'm sure.

I really liked it, ended up being much longer than I had expected, probably just because I kept getting lost. But it was very good

Played your level. Not really big on scenery but really big on puzzle/challenge. Easy to get lost which is fine by me. The clues were a nice touch cause oh how much harder would it have been? hah

Anyway, I really like it. Await your massive story you're working on.

Oh, almost forgot
Spoiler: (click to show/hide)

Unique ending. Had to try it twice to get it right.

Good job for your first level!

Cliff Hanger Walkthrough (Re: Cliff Hanger)
« Reply #5 on: November 22, 2009, 19:51:09 »
Well, here is a walkthrough. I keep it in spoilers so it wont... spoil...
You can check inside the houses what to do in which chapter. That may also be handy for seeing what chapter youre in. I even separated this walkthrough according to what the signs in the houses say.

Spoiler: Chapter One (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Chapter Two (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Chapter Three (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Chapter Four (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Chapter Five (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Chapter Six (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Chapter Seven (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Chapter Eight (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Final Chapter (click to show/hide)

P.S. Nice game... Long time before i noticed the key to completing chapter 1. But i make up for that by winning while having all keys.
P.S.S. I dont care what happens to this post... Just if it happens only to this post.
P.S.S.S.

^_^  Thanks guys for the feed back.

<_<  Um...I'll look about the red water fall and try to make the water more consistnt.

Okay, as for the Underwater area, I'll double check if there's a mistake with the puzzle.  I figured to balence out the hard puzzle, you can just fiddle with the trap until you get it right.   :shifty:

I would tell you more, but I can't figure out how to denote spoilers.

O_O  More levels on the way.  I can't stop making them.

It's like an addiction.

So, I'm posting to an old thread... because I'm new.

I really liked the atmosphere, and the puzzles I got to where nice.  I just died way to much.  The 20th time trying to get across the planets I just gave up.

Um...I know it's been forever since I last uploaded it, but here I am anyway.

I have the updated version of the level, but when I try to upload it to the archives, they say it's a duplicate level, so I'll have to find some other way to upload it.  For anyone who cares, tho, I did fix all the problems.

You might have to rename the file (I.E. From "Grimwit - Cliff Hanger.knytt.bin" to "Grimwitt - Cliff Hanger v2.knytt.bin")

And I don't mean rename the level, just compress, and rename the .knytt.bin file.

Very good level.
There are wallswims in the keys screens.
Spoiler: (click to show/hide)
And looks like there's no hint for 'Second' in the underwater.
For spoilers use
Spoiled text.
9_9  I guess you can never truly be finished with a level after you make it.

I'll have to play around to see where the wall swim is.  Thought I fixed those.  (rats /under-breath)
