Title: Teper's tilesets
Post by: Teper on July 06, 2009, 04:51:55
Greetings.

I've posted here all released tilesets I've made, all mainly from the old forum, so nothing new here for old forumers, exept for the car tileset.
Spoiler: Tilesets (click to show/hide)

Screenies for game example:

Nota bene: provence tileset is unfinished, so that might be a problem for the rocks on this  tileset, since I haven't done the right side (by opposit to left ;)). I'll solve this problem if someone is keen to use it.

tileset 3 and 4 could easily be merged into one tileset. also, i would love it if you finished provence. it is probably my most favourite tileset ever.

But for day-night shifting, all you have to do is change the tileset.

Indeed, that was the idea

These are lovely! Please, do finish Provence. It's a great tileset. How did you make the houses in Provence? Are you just that good with pixels?

I am having no problems visualizing them either.
And they are cool, indeed. :)

And on the second one, if you want to maintain that idea of only having to replace the tileset to shift from day to night, you should duplicate the cow silhouette, on the top, I think.

Why would the cows be in the same place both day and night? Unless they all had heart attacks and froze in instant rigor mortis, they should have moved. :P

That's just silly.

Everyone knows the aliens abducted them and dropped inanimate decoys in their places. :shifty:

Rather change the tileset and get everything the way it was than get two pink sqares, instead. It's mostly for the sake of consistency, really, but I agree it's not that important.

Actually it is based on pictures of paintings, which I refined on photoshop, to adapt them to a tileset and make them more sharp. Here's the explanation from the old forum.

Quote
The tileset idea: a dry mediterrannean landscape. I wanted it to have a natural look, without outlines, so I based it on C?zanne an Van Gogh's painting of Provence region in southern France. See here (http://www.udel.edu/PR/UDaily/2004/CezanneLaMaisonLezardeelg.jpg) and here (http://http://pauleuziere.files.wordpress.com/2007/04/oliviers-van-gogh.jpg)

And on the second one, if you want to maintain that idea of only having to replace the tileset to shift from day to night, you should duplicate the cow silhouette, on the top, I think.

Well the night cows are rather absurd cause the  usually sleep at night. These should be laid down cows. COs exist for the day version cow, however.

Um, is it just me or are the tilesets and screenshots gone? When I click on the spoilers they're just empty. I checked other threads to see if the spoilers tag is working and it seems to be working. Except for this one. I really want to see Teper's other tilesets - all I know is Provence...

They're gone. Given that this is a topic from 2009, it is not that surprising.
