upload speed very low

Help! I run on osx 10.5.8.

I have perfect connection, and my upload speed is very low.
I tried googling, it didnt help.
I tried different browsers, it didnt help.



I can't upload anything to tinypic, image shack,photobucket, and especially youtube

it could be a number of things,
Ram
internet connection
old computer
etc.
etc.

is it usually very slow? is it a new computer, or someone elses, whats the ram, it could also be the site itself.  i don't know what to suggest though i dont fix my internet my brother does lol

My signal thing is on max.

And I have 2gb of ram now.

And this computer was bought somewhere a year ago. (I dunno, I got it for free since my vista broke down)

I tried uploading them at different times (at different sites)
once every hour, on a 16 hour period

The only thing I could think of is that your computer is using the wrong protocol for uploading.  But that seems really, really unlikely.

Uploading to youtube is also very similar.

Is there anybody else around that uses your internet? It could be that they have a bunch of downloads going, sucking all your internet.

Weird indeed. Try to test your internet speed, and see if you get a particularly low upload speed.

Depends. Its all relative to what you are paying for. I have a 24 Mb/s adsl connection, and I get an upload speed of roughly 1.6 Mb/s, which is still kinda slow.
But yeah, thats almost five times as much as you. Something is definitely fishy here.

Its my laptop. I tried it on the other computers in my house (that arent mine, and I shouldnt be touching D:) and they work perfectly.

Are you using a wireless connection? If you are, it sounds like some sort of router problem.
Try it with an Ethernet cable, if you have any spare ones.
