[Small/Challenge/Scenic] Hinterland
« on: January 15, 2016, 23:56:24 »
This level was designed quickly, in a stream-of-consciousness fashion, while listening to a song my brother made called Hinterland.

There's a little story in my head about what's going on, but it's quite vague, and left well open to interpretation.

This was a really cool level. I especially liked how you were sort of below the water the whole time. Neat little challenge in there too.

A fun little level. I was a bit scared by the lack of saves but a couple of deaths and a glance at the editor after the face let me know I was safe. I liked the effect of the water used as background; the building standing out of the water was interesting design - very atmospheric. Overall I think the atmosphere was great for something so simple.

Nice job.

I liked it! I thought a couple of the beginning jumps were very frustrating

without looking at it in the editor. Still, a very nice little level!

Things to remember when writing figures of speech and sound:
The power of poetry comes from the ability to defy logic. Defy logic often.

Use a metaphor and tell us that your lover is the sky. Tell us that your lover is the sky. When you do that, we won't believe you. We won't believe you because saying so makes no sense, but we'll see a meaning. We'll see a meaning.

The other thing is the ability to be remembered. Love anything.

Love anything

Very short, but very enjoyable. You made very good use of the tilesets and the music to convey a great atmosphere! :) I especially liked the latter half of the level and the little puzzle just before that.

Some of the early jumps were a little too tight for my tastes, but never to the point of frustration.

Some KS levels by me:

Not a bad little level. The drum track sounded awfully familiar.
